Spirit of Scotland Travelpass
The Spirit of Scotland Travelpass (formerly called the Freedom of Scotland Travelpass) is a great way to travel throughout Scotland by train, coach and ferry.
Most of the travel (including train, coach and ferry services) are included in the price of the pass, while some other services offer a substantial discount.

Train
Unlimited travel on all scheduled services wholly within Scotland, including services to/from Carlisle and Berwick-upon-Tweed
Ferry
Unlimited travel on Argyll Ferries between Gourock and Dunoon and on all scheduled Caledonian MacBrayne ferry services within Scotland
Coach
Unlimited travel on the following scheduled coach services in Scotland:
- Scottish Citylink/West Coast Motors Oban/Fort William–Inverness, Oban–Campbeltown, Kyle of Lochalsh–Uig, Inverness–Ullapool
- Stagecoach in East Scotland Dundee/Leuchars–St Andrews
- First Scotland East Melrose–Galashiels–Peebles–Edinburgh (service 62), Carlisle–Langholm–Hawick–Galashiels–Edinburgh (service X95)

Discounts
Holders of the Freedom of Scotland Travelpass are also entitled to many discounts on tourist attractions in Scotland plus transport services not otherwise included in this travel pass. With this travel pass you are entitled to the following discounts:
Train
10% discount on all full standard fares on the Keith & Dufftown Railway and the Strathspey Steam Railway.
Ferry
20% discount on seated standard fares purchased on the day of sailing on the following Northlink Ferries routes: Scrabster–Stromness, Aberdeen–Lerwick, Aberdeen–Kirkwall–Lerwick
Coach
10% discount on single and day return fares between Inverness and Durness on services operated by D&E Coaches.
City Sightseeing bus tours
£1 off adult and concession tickets on the following tours: Edinburgh Bus Tour, Glasgow City Sightseeing (customers must download a voucher to obtain discount).
Restrictions
The Spirit of Scotland Travelpass is valid for travel on trains departing after 9.15am Monday–Friday and all day on weekends and bank holidays. This restriction does not apply to the following routes:
- Glasgow Queen Street–Oban/Fort William/Mallaig
- Inverness–Kyle/Wick/Thurso
- Glasgow Central–Stranraer
- Lockerbie–Carlisle, Carstairs, Motherwell or Glasgow Central (direct services only)
